- Guru.
- Profesor.
- Leraar.
- Insegnante.
These are just a few names for one of the most important person(s) in our life.
Anyone can become a Teacher at any point in your life.
Confused??? 😏😏😏
Don't be... What I mean is that no matter where you are, and no matter what you do..... There can be at-least one person who can teach you a lesson for life(hoping in a good way 😅😅).
Today through my blog I am paying homage to all my teachers who have made me the man I am today.
And for you I have a fun thought experiment that I would like to share with you.
You have three options as follows :
Nobel Prize Winner Sheldon Cooper
Sherlock Holmes
Lets start with our Nobel Winner
Undoubtedly a man with profound knowledge of physics and other fields for instance psychology, chemistry, history, language, flags etc. But probably you have to survive through his insults and eccentricities through your entire class and the worst part he doesn't even understand when his words are insulting.
Sheldon is kind of like Odin and his knowledge is like the Mjölnir you have to be worthy to receive it. But if you look beyond his thick shell of insults and eccentricities he is a gem at heart. He genuinely cares about the people in his life and will help them without a second thought.
But be careful of having a cool idea because then he might try to turn it into another "Surprisingly Helpful Equation Link Differential Optimize Numerator (S.H.E.L.D.O.N) and it would be just another happy accident".
If you somehow are able to survive all this let's see what we can learn from Sheldon:
- Brutal Honesty
- Obedience to Regulations
- Science (obviously)
- Geology???( You have better chances of getting hit in the head with that rock)
Next up is our Friendly Neighborhood Detective Sherlock Holmes
A highly functioning Sociopath. Sherlock Holmes is a person who wont get a wink of sleep if he cant find a logical chain of events from point A to point B.
A person having a profound knowledge of chemistry, crime, history and practically anything and everything which he needs to solve a case.
An adrenaline junkie who gets high with the thrill of the chase and the complexity of the crime. Will go to extreme lengths for the people he values in his life.
He definitely likes to boast his knowledge and feels a sense of pride when his knowledge is appreciated, probably one of the reasons he likes Dr. John Watson so much.
Lets see what skills Mr Sherlock brings to the table:
- Logic (goes without saying)
- Chemistry
- Constitutional Laws
- Astronomy(only if it helps with the case otherwise he doesn't care about the position of planets in the solar system as according to him it would make no difference in the daily life of the people)
- Criminology
- Dedication
Looking to excel as a detective ??? This person would be an excellent teacher.
The Symbol of Righteousness Captain America
Steven Rogers is not a man of Science. He doesn't have an in-depth knowledge of Physics, Chemistry or any other branch of Science for that matter, but he is the living symbol of Righteousness and Goodness in the MCU.
Even when Rogers was a puny little weakling he didn't hold back from fighting for what's right no matter how strong the opponent is.
He can't help you in the getting rid of the world energy crisis but he can surely help you in getting rid of your inner demons and excel as a human being.
This man can teach you
- How to be fearless
- How to stay determined even when the odds are against you
- Willpower
- Righteousness
- Kindness
- Justice
- Friendship
- Patriotism
What do you think ?? Please comment on other fictional or real life characters who you would love to have as your teacher.
But lets deep dive into the question. Who or what is a teacher ? Someone or something who can bring out the best version of yourself. It doesn't matter how many academic qualifications is under the belt of the person, or how famous he is, even a simple child can possess the capability to teach you a lesson for life.
Instead of searching for the right teacher for ourselves, if we just accept the fact that everybody has something to teach us wouldn't the entire world just become a vast library of Knowledge ???
THINK ABOUT IT....
Note to Readers : If you have some interesting thought exercise please share them in the comment section. We would simply love to have a discussion over the same. Till then stay safe and stay well.
A lot of eyebrows are automatically raised by simply hearing the name.
"Dr. Sheldon Cooper" a Nobel Laureate for super asymmetry.
Although the character may be fictional but in many ways Sheldon has been a part of our lives for 12
years.
I thought what would it be like to have a discussion with Sheldon regarding our current times and
what does he have to say about it, which I am guessing beforehand would be a lot. 😀😀😅😅
Please note that the following WhatsApp screenshots have been generated using Meme making software and
is purely for entertainment purposes.
I hope you all enjoyed the above imaginary conversation between me and Sheldon, who may be
arrogant but at the end of the day places humanity above himself, at least that's what I think he
would have done.😋😋
To be honest, I kind of agree with Sheldon, we did have a part to play in the humongous increase in
the rate of infected people today. "Lockdown Fatigue" and negligence towards safety protocol is
what caused the massive spread.
It is pressure which destroys a rock into rubble, but it is the resilience of Carbon which converts it
into a diamond.
The choice is yours on whether you want to feel like a rubble or a diamond when the Pandemic is
over.
Think About It...
Till then
- Maintain Social Distance
- Avoid Going out unless absolutely necessary
- Wash your hands frequently
and most important of all "STAY SAFE and STAY WELL" with all your family.
Cute aren't they ???
I'm sure most of 90's kids are familiar with these characters above but these are not the Digital Monsters that we are going to talk about.
Today, we talk about the real Digital Monsters of the 21st Century i.e., Bullies or to be more precise Cyber Bullies.
So lets clear out the basics
WHAT IS CYBER-BULLYING ?
Cyber bullies are the digital versions of feeble minded persons, who simply take out their frustration on others in a pathetic attempt to feel superior, and the lunacy that they perform across all the digital platforms is known as CYBER BULLYING.
It basically involves sharing mean, hurtful, negative or false information about someone else which cause the recipient to feel embarrassment or humiliation.
The most common places where this phenomenon is known to happen are as follows :
- Social Media Networks
- Online Gaming Platforms
- Instant Messaging
- Emails
- Chat Rooms
- Message Boards etc
In the 21st Century when finding a person without a social network footprint is like finding a four leafed clover; the below statistics describe the extent to which these Digimons have spread :
EFFECTS OF CYBER-BULLYING
Posting an insulting remark on the social media or harassing someone in a Gaming Room might boost the ego of a superficial person but it leaves the recipient scarred for life.
It makes the person question about his existence, his/her self esteem is shattered, one disparaging remark is more than enough to cause a massive impact to the personality of a person.
In some instances it causes the person to change his entire personality to become more socially acceptable; to get rid of the humiliation; but instead they come face to face with an existential crisis.
It doesn't take long to make a remark which gets 😂😂😂 emojis from a majority of the people watching it but
A minute of oppression can cause a lifetime of depression.
Realization happens to everyone and I am sure it will happen to these Digimons as well but when it happens; will they be able to live with the guilt ???!!!
Think About it...
Dear Readers,
I implore you, that if you ever come across such abhorrent remarks please report it, If you ever come across someone who is a victim of this plague please provide the help he/she needs.
We already have a virus which has destroyed our entire way of life.
Lets stop this one before it gets the chance to do the same.
LOCKDOWN !!!
A term which has become very popular in the year 2020. Every single person in this world has been directly or indirectly impacted by this very term, pretty sure we all know why.... A deadly strand of virus has creeped its way into our lives and has changed the very outlook of the world.
According to Wikipedia the current COVID-19 tally as on 02.08.2020 is 17.9 Million humans all across the world.
But just how big an impact this word has left in the lives of us humans ???
In India when LOCKDOWN started on 25.03.2020 it was a completely unprecedented situation, what to do, what not to do, where can we go, what if we get infected, how will I work, how can we stay safe and probably a million other questions were in the minds of every single individual of the world irrespective of caste creed or religion, but the bottom line was HOW WAS HUMANITY GOING TO SURVIVE alongside a virus for which there was no cure.
A virus which has symptoms indistinguishable from the common flu, the most susceptible being the elderly and the children.
The sectors which have suffered the uppercut of COVID-19 are Tourism, Entertainment, Retail, Aviation automobiles etc as a result of which many unfortunate people have lost their jobs, people had been stranded in other states or countries with very little chances of returning.
People have started suffering from depression, anxiety which in turn leads to other ailments which further impacts one's family in these perilous times.
Pretty depressing right ???!!! I am bragging about everything COVID has taken from us seems like I am a pessimistic person who has nothing to do but recite the events that you already know.
Well my friends every cloud has a silver lining, for the first time in the World there is a possibility of Global Collaboration a collective will to fight a common enemy.
COVID-19 has showed us just how resilient we are, not as people of any particular nation but as a part of Humanity. It has showed us that in tough times we humans evolve and look past our personal interests for the greater good of the civilization.
The people who have performed the role of the front-line warriors against COVID are :
- The Doctors.
- The Nurses.
- The Police.
- The Researchers.
these people have worked and are continuously working day and night just to keep us safe, staying away from their family, in conditions we cant even fathom, and last but not the least YOU.. yes you a law abiding citizen who has understood the responsibility of Social distancing and is doing your part in trying to prevent the spread of the virus.
We have sacrificed a lot in these tough times and that definitely hurts a lot but please remember and I quote " The night is darkest just before the dawn and trust me the Dawn is coming" we will rise again humanity will thrive again. This Global Pandemic will forever be a part of our lives but tell me how do want to feel when this is all over ?
"COVID-19 took everything from me"
or
" I am a COVID warrior and I have done my bit in stopping this virus"
This pandemic has already taken a lot, don't let it take anymore than it already has and don't despair over events you can't control.
Think About it...
Stay Healthy, Stay Safe.
